The Healthy Beverage Zone (HBZ) is a first of its kind, borough-wide project to eliminate sugary-sweetened beverages (SSBs) at health centers, hospitals, houses of worship and schools and other workplaces.
In collaboration with partners of the #Not62 campaign, Union Community Health Center (UCHC) and Bronx Health REACH have come together to form the HBZ, a collaborative committee that is motivating Bronxites to ditch the sugary beverages and instead, make healthier drinks their first choice. The project concentrates on furthering positive health outcomes throughout the Bronx and decreasing the number of chronic diseases that Bronxites develop as a result of increased consumption of sugary beverages. Ultimately, the goal is to champion Bronxites to take back their health and join a movement that promotes healthy beverage options for all who work, live, and visit the Bronx!
